Shai Paneer Recipe
Shahi Paneer is a popular North Indian dish that is known for its rich and creamy texture. As the name suggest Shahi means “Royal”, it is a Dish that belongs to Royal Indian Families. It is made with paneer (Indian cottage cheese) cooked in a creamy tomato-based gravy with a blend of aromatic spices and garnished with nuts. “Shahi” refers to the royal or regal nature of the dish, indicating its indulgent and luxurious qualities.
How To Make Shahi Paneer – Step by Step Guide:
- Heat ghee or oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute until the raw smell disappears.
- In a blender, blend the soaked cashews, melon seeds, and poppy seeds (if using) into a smooth paste.
- Add the tomato puree to the pan and cook until the oil separates from the mixture.
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, cardamom powder, sugar, and salt. Mix well.
- Stir in the cashew paste and cook for a couple of minutes.
- Reduce the heat and add fresh cream and milk. Mix well and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Add the paneer cubes to the gravy and gently mix to coat them. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.

- 1 Pc Large Onion Chopped
- 2 Pc Tomatoes Pureed
- 1 tsp Ginger Garlic paste
- 1/4 Cup Fresh Cream
- 1/4 Cup Milk
- 1/4 Cup Cashews Soaked in warm water
- 1 tbsp Melon seeds Optional
- 1 tsp Poppy seeds Optional
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
- 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
- 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
- 1/2 tsp Sugar
- 1 tsp salt to taste As per your taste
- 1/4 Cup Chop Coriander Leaves For Garnish
